PNG 4 Christ is the initiative of the General Conference of the Seventh – day Adventist. General Conference and South Pacific Division are collaborating together to prepare for the PNG 4 Christ 2024 Reaping Campaign.

PNG for Christ Medical awareness team comprised of General Conference and South Pacific Division arrived in PNG on Tuesday evening.

“On behalf of the Central Papua Conference and the PNG Union Mission, I welcome you and feel part of the Adventist family in this part of the World.” Pr. Rex Koi Said.

The welcome reception was held at the Jackson’s International Airport by the Pathfinders in the North East District, senior leadership team from Central Papua Conference and PNG Union Mission. The PNG Union Mission leadership team are Pr. Miller Kuso, Personal Ministry and Sabbath School Director, Pr. Zachary Lipen, Health Director, and Jacqueline Wari, Communications Director.

On behalf of the Adventist World Radio, Dr. Maraiah thanked everyone for the hospitality and the patience though the flights were delayed multiple times.

 Health Ministries Director for South Pacific Division – Geraldine Thanked Pr. Rex Koi and senior officers from CPC and PNGUM, Pathfinders and directors.

“You are the future and we want to invest in you. We are here to do awareness on the major health program on the PNG for Christ Program. We are here to be the feet and hands of Jesus. We are here to heal, to teach and to preach. As people realize our love for God, and our love for others and minister to those who are sick, those in need and minister to the soul of people and introduce to our loving savior.” She said.

The purpose of the delegates is to do need assessments, collect data and visit the sites. Elder Ted Wilson with 100s of Pastors and evangelists from General Conference, more than 200 pastors and evangelists from SPD will be in PNG on 24th April – 12th May 2024. Prior to that, they’ll be a mega health program from the 14th – 21st April 2024.

Central Papua Conference General Secretary, Pr. George Paki said that the PNG for Christ is not just are evangelistic meeting, the church is focusing to meet the needs of our people through health programs.

“We have medical teams coming from Australia, USA and France and will be settled in Western Highlands Province. The doctors will be stationed at Togoba Health Centre, Mt. Hagen General Hospital ad Sopas Adventist Hospital. They will do surgery and clinics and other medical checks. We are currently seeking clearance from the government.” He said

Pr. Miller Kuso said that our aim is to bring PNG to Jesus. With this initiative, the church have ordered 100,000 bibles both pidgin and English, and will be distributed across the country.

“We want to stand together and call out other churches, government and other agencies to come together and bring PNG to Jesus.” He said

“The work that I am doing now at the moment is planning on the major health clinic that we going to have in Mt. Hagen. So what we are going to do is to be the feet and hands of Jesus. We want to minister to the sick, those who are suffering.” Geraldine Said.

She said the many times we focus on physical health, but there is also a physical health, social health, spiritual health, emotional health social health, environmental health. And we want to do this evangelism awareness. This is the initiative of the Adventist Health and we want to focus on diabetes and other diseases.”
